Hyundai ended the World Rally Championship season with a double victory in Japan.


Thierry Neuville won, Ott Tjanak came in second. Elfin Evans competed with Neville, but the Toyota driver suffered a puncture on the last day of the race and finished fifth. Takamoto Katsuta was third at the finish line, Sebastian Ogier was fourth (both Toyotas).


The new world champion Kalle Rovanpera became the 12th. Former Formula 1 driver Heikki Kovalainen made his WRC debut and finished in tenth position.
