In Italy, teams may be given the opportunity to request VAR assistance.


At the meeting of the league, the possibility of the technical staff of the teams to draw the attention of the referee to questionable episodes that occurred during the match prediction by upcoming football events was discussed. The Italian Football Federation, at the request of Serie A clubs, has come up with such an initiative.


In its statement, the Federation emphasized that it had informally informed FIFA of its readiness to conduct an experiment on the use of VAR requests.

Technical timing and any final decisions will be at the discretion of the International Football Association Board (IFAB).
