Norris spoke about the conflict between Russell and Verstappen. The McLaren driver noted that such situations between drivers can often arise, and that in fact it all depends on the personal relationship in this particular case:
Well, there are two sides to the coin. On the one hand. . . we are paid to come here, race, try to perform as well as possible for the sake of the team. Mercedes aren`t fighting to win the championship forecast by dropping odds or anything right now, so they`re willing to take more risks than Max. Therefore, at every Grand Prix they try to do everything possible to win pole and then the race. But, be that as it may, everyone here will have their own point of view. Some fight harder, some less. Either way, I enjoy watching them argue.
Norris added that he has no complaints against Max Verstappen for what happened at the Qatar Grand Prix. Norris received a 10-second stop-and-go penalty in the race for speeding in a double yellow flag zone. The stewards began to review the incident after an appeal from Red Bull, since Verstappen thought that Norris might have been speeding - and this was in fact the case:
Yes, everything is fine. That is, in Max`s place absolutely any F1 driver would have done the same. It`s a race, it has rules. And Max had every right to assume that I would break these rules. He couldn`t know for sure whether I lifted my foot from the gas pedal or not. But he thought there had been a violation and said so. This is absolutely normal.
